May 3, 2026 | Edgewater Sports Park
The Cincinnati Region SCCA launched the 2026 RallyCross season at Edgewater Sports Park with a strong showing of 51 registered drivers and 50 posting times, setting the tone for a competitive four-event championship.
The biggest class of the day, Stock AWD (SA) with 16 entries, delivered one of the tightest battles. Cody Mills took the win in his 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i with a 374.380 total. Neal Henry finished second just 3.4 seconds back, while Scott Johnson rounded out the podium in third. The class showed serious depth, with Mason Masters and Chris Amos completing a tightly packed top five, all within a few seconds.
Stock FWD (SF), another high-participation class with 11 drivers, saw Jeremy Huddleston take the win in his 2013 Ford Focus ST with a 385.494. Reed Ouellette secured second, followed by Steven Huddleston in third. The competition remained tight through the top five, with Johannes Schadow and Charlie Discoe staying within striking range.
In Stock RWD (SR), a Miata-heavy class, Travis Spencer claimed victory with a 395.805. He was followed by Chase Heikkila in second, with all drivers relying on momentum and precision to navigate the loose surface.
The Prepared AWD (PA) class featured six entries and a standout performance from Chris Rudy, who took the win with a 393.742. Richard Sawicki finished second, while Jason Bowman placed third. Notably, Dan Thomas showed strong pace but was hampered by DNF.
In Prepared FWD (PF), Alex Ashbaugh delivered solid 391.916 for the class win. Jared Sams and Josh Sharp completed the podium.
Prepared RWD (PR) saw Pete Remner take the win in his Mazda RX-7 with a 393.866, ahead of Christopher Szkolnik.
In the modified categories, Chris Marik claimed Modified AWD (MA) in his Subaru Impreza L, while Sidney Scott took the win in Modified FWD (MF). Valerie Hansen and William Ehrman rounded out the MF podium. In Modified RWD (MR), Ian Glen led a BMW sweep, finishing ahead of Jeff Glen and Nich Carpenter.
The UTV classes capped off the day with outright speed. Ed Trudeau dominated UTV Sport (US) and set Top Time of Day with a 347.456. Ben Milner took the win in UTV Max (UM).
Across all classes, clean runs and consistency proved decisive as drivers battled changing surface conditions. With Event #1 complete, the championship fight is underway—and if this opener is any indication, the 2026 season will be fiercely competitive from start to finish.
