Despite being nearly a month overdue, here is your June Solo Report!
Saturday – Starting Line School
Our event weekend kicked off with an annual visit from SCCA’s Starting Line School. 11 drivers of all skill and experience levels spent the day honing their skills and finding speed. Several students came back for Sunday’s points event and put that instruction to good use.
Sunday – Points Event 4
Sunday’s points event was an exercise in heat management for both driver and car with high temps and humidity throughout the entire day.
The course itself featured a unique cross-over section, which each of the 148 drivers got six attempts at across the day’s four heats.
The fastest times of the day were split between two drivers with the fastest raw time going to Danny Popp (No. 10, XA) in his 2024 Corvette E-Ray with a 34.343, and the top PAX time of 28.617 owned by Christian Moist (No. 27, CS) and his 2023 Mazda Miata.
Myke Dziengel (No. 6, BST) took his second season win in the Pro category, fending off a very game David Santel (No. 177, DST) for the win by just 0.150 seconds. The gap from second was even narrower with Chris Rudy (No. 1, FS) rounding out the top three just 0.012 seconds back from Santel.
Street Open had another close fight for the win with several cars trading first place during the heat before Christian Moist (No. 27, CS) laid down a blistering 35.156 on his final pass, taking the win over Alex Kruetzkamp (No. 22, HS) by 0.746 seconds. Following the precedent set by the Pro class, third place Kent Weaver (No. 98, CS) was a scant 0.059 seconds back from Kruetzkamp.
Street Touring Open once again went the way of Nate Chester (No. 92, GST) with his second class win of the season. Nick Isaac (No. 5, CST) finished the day second, just 0.381 back from Chester and another 0.381 ahead of Richard Sawicki (No. 28, CST) in third.
Danny Popp took his third Xtreme Street A win of 2026, along with FTD, over the 2018 Subaru WRX STi of Brandon Sewell (No. 22) in second and 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S of Wyatt Thesing (No. 15) in third.
Xtreme Street B had one of the closest battles of the day with all three cars in the class separated by less than a second. The Mitsubishi-powered 1991 Mazda Miata of Adam Austin (No. 19) came home first, just 0.019 seconds clear of the 1990 Mazda Miata of Garth Dexter (No. 7). Halie Sewell (No. 67) rounded out the class in third.
Classic American Muscle Sport was once again extremely tight at the sharp end of the field with the top five cars separated by less than a second. Dean Smith (No. 30) finished third with a fastest time of 35.484 in his 2019 Corvette Grand Sport, while Nathan Popp (No. 17) took his 1989 Corvette to second with a 35.268. Travis Clark (No. 11) ultimately came away with the win in his 2007 Corvette Z06 with a 35.230 – just 0.038 seconds clear of second place.
The top three steps in the Novice Street podium all belonged to the ubiquitous NA Mazda Miata, with Dominick Roads (No. 1, ES) taking the win over Dan Iwamoto (No. 7, ES) and Brodie Brinkman (No. 11, ES).
Novice Modified saw 18 cars competing for top honors, with the 1997 Ford Mustang of Ryan Golembiewski (No. 12, CAMT) ending the day in first place. Kyle Lally (No. 5, CAMS) placed second in his 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, while Adam Helmers (No 25, BST) completed the top three in his 2017 Honda Civic Type R.

With Points Event 4 complete, the run for class championships is officially underway – drivers need to compete in four events to qualify for a championship, and their top five results are counted.
The second half of the season begins with Points Event 5 on July 26th.
