The fifth points event of the season took place under cloudy skies and downright reasonable temperatures for a great day of racing for all 134 drivers in attendance. Despite a few small delays for stalled cars and timing issues, all competitors got six runs across four heats.
The course was tight and fast in equal measure, rewarding patience and precision with some of the fastest flowing sections all season. Particularly, the final sector along the north side of the lot had some very tricky corners that really punished drivers that got behind or pushed too hard too early.
A healthy 13 car Novice Street field saw the lead change several times throughout the day, but when the dust settled John Crosby (No. 6, ES) took his 1999 Mazda Miata to the win over Brad Pyle (No. 3, HS) in second and Asaad Hossain (No. 18, DS) in third.
Novice Modified was equally competitive, with the C Street Prepared Toyota Corolla driven by Isaac Elleman (No. 125) placing third, the Electric Vehicle X Hyndai Ioniq 5N of Matt Alden (No. 82) placing second, and the G Street Touring Honda Civic Si of Lucas Munday (No. 11) taking top honors.
A stacked Pro class saw Krzysztof Zielinski (No. 27, CAMC) take his first class win of the season, just 0.016 seconds ahead of returning local legend Rob Clark (No. 56, CS) and 0.042 seconds ahead of third place Chris Rudy (No. 1, FS).
Street Open had 11 cars and a plethora of position changes throughout the heat, but ultimately it was Alex Kruetzkamp (No. 22, HS) who came away victorious with his second class win of 2026. Christian Moist (No. 95, CS) took home second place, with Jayson Breier (No. 4, FS) rounding out the podium in third.
Proving the old axiom that ‘the fastest car is a borrowed one’, the top raw (34.736) and PAX (29.108) times of the day both went to Nick Isaac (No. 5, SST) in a loaner Porsche Cayman GTS, affectionately known as the PAX Wagon. Isaac took his second Street Touring Open win of the season over a very game Nate Chester (No. 92, GST) in second and Richard Sawicki (No. 28, CST) in third.
Championship points have been updated, and with five events now in the books even more competitors have qualified for their respective championships. A maximum of five events are scored, meaning that everyone looking to improve their position only has three more chances to make up ground or put some distance on the drivers behind them.

Our season resumes with another single-day event on August 30th, but before that Cincy SCCA is set to do some social networking and will be set up with a vendor booth at Hamilton Octane Fest on August 29th. We’ll be hanging out to talk all things autocross, introducing some folks to the joys of driving around cones in a parking lot, and even doing some giveaways.
