As Ohio Stay at Home Order has been extended through May 1st, our events scheduled for April 25th and 26th, MMC Test and Tune and our Point Event 1 have been cancelled.
Please note the Cincinnati Region Solo program does not process the payment until the registration close date, thus there will be no refunds to be processed. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Also, we are in contact with the Evolution Performance Driving School to determine how this will affect our schools scheduled for May 2nd/3rd. Please stay tuned for any cancellations and schedule changes for our future events.
We regret to inform everyone we are cancelling our autocross events the weekend of Apr 4 & 5 in response to corona virus concerns. This includes the SCCA Starting Line event and our season opening Fun Event.
We have been working closely with Traders World, the City of Monroe, our region leadership, other SCCA regions, and SCCA national office exploring options to still conduct our events while complying with state guidelines and recommendations from CDC. At this time with Traders World closed on a week-to-week basis, the state limit of 50 people, and associated CDC guidance, cancellation is the most prudent option to help prevent the spread of the Corona virus or potentially put other individuals at undue risk.
We will continue to work closely with all concerned to return as soon as possible. Stay tuned on info regarding the Apr 25 – 26 events.
We are assessing the potential impacts to our Autocross program from State of Ohio announcement today instituting a temporary ban on large public gatherings. We already addressing concerns with loaner helmets (http://cincyscca.com/2020/03/solo-loaner-helmets-policy/) and will let everyone know as soon as we finalize impacts/plans on this latest development.
Please pay close attention to future announcements on our Homepage/Facebook and email (for those who registered for our events) for any update.
A number of other regions and auto clubs have suspended their loaner helmet program in response to COVID-19, more commonly known as the Corona virus.
We will continue to offer loaner helmets at this time based on the information we have reviewed to date including the official guidance from SCCA.
We plan to have disinfectant sprays and wipes available for between uses and are investigating head socks. As always we encourage entrants to purchase their own helmets for comfort and enjoyment of the sport anyway.

I digress, welcome to the 2020 Cincy Region SCCA autocross season!!! Well almost, it’s only 35 days until our first event! Lots of things are already happening to make sure we are ready by the time that event comes around.
Of course we had the 2019 Year-End Cincy Awards Banquet back on Feb 1st. If you earned a trophy but were unable to attend, contact me and I’ll try to make arrangements to get it to you.
Next, we had a solo committee meeting last week to firm up the committee positions and make plans to make 2020 even better than 2019. Lots of little details, too much to bore you with, but we are back at Traders World this year with what should be an exciting year with lots of great events and things to make it even better for you, our entrants!
Next up, a trailer cleaning/organizing party in mid March. Let us know if you want to join us and help!
Back to our upcoming events. First is the Great Lakes Division SCCA Spring Training event in Fort Wayne on March 8th. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to become a solo safety steward, a jr kart steward, or learn more about organizing SCCA autocross or other programs SCCA offers. Our first Cincy event is our SCCA Starting Line event on Sat, Apr 4. If you are new to SCCA and autocross, the Starting Line is a great way to start with many bonus goodies besides the great instruction. The Starting Line is followed by a Fun Event on Sun, Apr 5. Those two events are quickly followed by a joint Test and Tune event with the Miami Univ. Motorsport Club on Sat, Apr 25, and Points Event #1 on Apr 26. The next weekend is our Evolution Performance Driving Schools with Phase 1 and Phase 2 schools on Sat and Sun, May 2 and May 3, respectively. Sign up now, spots go quick for these schools! The Tire Rack SCCA Starting Line School is a partnership between the Sports Car Club of America and Tire Rack to give automotive enthusiasts at every level a professional, all-inclusive entry into the sport of performance driving and the chance to have some fun with their cars.
The full-day school introduces key concepts applicable to performance driving and offers participants the opportunity to develop motorsports skills while working with professional performance driving instructors.

Well, it has already been a busy year And we’re still in January!!! 2019 Year-End Trophies ordered for the banquet tomorrow, Traders World contract finalized, Evolution School dates moved, Starting Line contract finalized, 2020 Cincy Solo Schedule confirmed, new classes incorporated, permanent number registration, etc.
Still have lots to do so we are ready for our first event, an SCCA Starting Line event on Apr 4, and a fun event Apr 5. Before that we will have a solo committee meeting and a trailer spruce up party – yet to be scheduled. Come out and be a part of making the 2020 season even better than the last, we are always looking for help, for those who want to help be a specialty chief or deputy.
Oh yeah, next up come out to the Great Lakes Division Spring Training on March 7 in Fort Wayne, IN.
