RallyCross Report: NOT DUSTY!

RallyCross PE#2. May 27th, Bitzer’s Farm

A wonderful rally cross with great weather all day! light rain the night before kept the dust down and the speeds continued to climb throughout the 12 runs made by each of the 24 participants!

Taking top spot in Stock All was Duane Simons followed by newcomer Michael Holland.

First place honors in Stock Front were captured by another newcomer Konstantin Volkov in his 1995 Mazda Protégé.

Kyle Kreitzer finished 1st in Prepared All followed by Kirk Davis and Chad Evans.

Newcomer Will Kuhnes benefited from the skillful navigation of Angie Kuhnes and took 1st in Prepared Front followed closely by Alex Ashbaugh in second.

Mod All saw Chris Smith in his Skeletor Subaru at the top of the pile with Joshua Zortman, Jeremie Snyder, Richard Hopple and Nathaniel Rapien tucked neatly beneath him.

Adam Brock fresh off his first stage rally the previous weekend brought home 1st in Mod Front.

The 9 car deep Mod Rear field was bested by current national champion John W England and followed by Pete Remner, Evan Arthur, John E. England, Scott Bitzer, John Hall, Phillip Bruffey, John Atkisson and Trevor Taylor.

A big Thank You to all the came out to watch and participate. Our next event is Saturday June 24th.

RallyCross Report: AWASH! Thor’s Hammer strikes!

RallyCross PE#1, April 29th, Bitzer’s Farm

48 pre-entrants were signed up in all 9 available classes before online registration closed on Thursday night prior to the event!
Rain had been forecast for the 3 days previous but had eluded the event site. The decision was made to proceed as scheduled for Saturday’s competition!

Over 75 friends, neighbors and competitive rally type people converged on-site for Saturdays event. Cars were inspected, helmets checked and as the day of racing began the heavens opened up producing lighting, wind, hail and copious amounts of high humidity in liquid form, sadly forcing us to reschedule the event to a later date!

Registration Open for Barney Powers Memorial Road Rally

Cincinnati Region SCCA Presents

Barney Powers Memorial Road Rally II
Coast to Coast and Dam to Dam in Clermont County
April 22, 2017

Come join the fun that will have any car enthusiast or intrepid rally adventurer salivating.

We are participating in the Spring Classic Driving Tour in Clermont County, along with almost 20 car and motorcycle clubs and organizations. You can visit the website for this event at 2017 Spring Classic Driving Tour.

This is a charitable event and a portion of your entry fee will be donated to the American Lung Association and ALS. Additional donations are greatly appreciated as well.

The site will open at 7:30 AM, so come early to wander around the parking lot, show off your automobile, and get an up close look at other participants’ “babies”.

SCCA will be conducting a rally as opposed to a drive, so you will receive a set of instructions and questions to answer along the way, and we will crown our winner at the endpoint party. Points will also be awarded for a series championship. An additional award will be presented to the Rally Masters’ Choice for the most unusual car entered.

Due to the nature of this event, an exact departure time can’t be specified, but should be between 10 and 10:30. There will be a brief safety and general instruction meeting approximately 15 minutes prior to departure. The length of the rally is 3 ½ – 4 hours, depending on the length of your stops, driving speeds and frequency of turn-arounds to find answers.

Please register on-line at Barney-Powers-Memorial-Road-Rally-II on MotorSportReg.com
