6 teams joined us for a beautiful drive on the twisty, hilly roads of Boone County, on a glorious day. The rain held off until we finished, or at least almost finished. There was a tie for first place which was decided by a couple tie breaker questions. A good time was had by all. This is the first rally I have actually been able to compete in for quite a while. I was surprised that I was a little nervous to set out on an unknown course. Let’s just say my (and my partner’s) finishing position is testament to the fact that I did not have prior knowledge of the route, questions and tie breaker questions. Join the fun at the next event on June 25. The location is still in flux, but registration will open once the final details are confirmed.

The first one is in the books! We had 9 teams competing, including 3 first timers. Three must be the magic number, as there was a three-way tie for first as well! A good time was had by all. Results are posted on the cincyscca.com website.

Announcing the 2022 Road Rally Schedule! Already there’s been a change to the date of the first rally. We realized we were scheduled for Easter weekend, so we moved to the following week. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

We are taking July off, but on 7/16 there is a rally in Indianapolis, in case you can’t stand to miss a month and want to try out another region’s event.

It’s time to dust off your clipboard, grab your partner and gas up your car. Rally season is just around the corner. The first event will be April 16th. Join us to celebrate the end of tax season with “Tiptoe Thru the Tulips Two”. We will be starting and ending at Shooters Bar and Grill at 4981 Winner’s Circle Drive in Liberty Township. First car out will be approximately 10:30. Registration will be open soon at cincyscca.motorsportreg.com. The rest of the schedule is being finalized and will be released ASAP.

Our rally season has come to an end for this year. If you still want to venture out, there is a rally put on by Indy Region this coming Saturday, December 4. This is an evening, charity event with no entry fee if you bring a new unwrapped toy to contribute. You will be making stops at nearby towns to make food purchases for a pantry. It launches in Shelbyville, which is on I-74, east of Indy.

Meanwhile, the minds of your rally masters are busy thinking of fun events for 2022. Have a Happy Holiday season!

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, the final road rally of the season, Saturday, October 30 was canceled. It was a great route and will be rescheduled for some time in 2022. Meanwhile, we are working on additional routes and fun stuff for 2022. If you have suggestions, some great roads we should use, or want to set up a route yourself, let us know. We can always use the help and can offer help too if you want to become a Rally Master.
Thanks to everyone who helped set up routes and/or safety checked them. Thanks also to everyone who came out to run the events. They are a lot of work to set up (but fun too) and all the Rally Masters and Safety Stewards want is to show you all a good time.
Congratulations to Mike and Stephanie Spatz for finishing first in the points standings again this year.

The September’s Scenic Summer Swan Song was held on September 11. There was a small turnout, but a good time was had by all, and everyone made it back to Nick’s American Café in Cleves. The food and service were top notch. Scoring was very tight.
Registration will open soon for the final road rally of the season, Saturday, October 30. The starting/ending location is expected to be Susanna’s Guest House in New Richmond, Ohio. First car out will be around 10:30. I’m not going to give away too much information yet, but you will be exploring in Ohio and Kentucky. Ever been across the Ohio River on a ferry? You will be if you join us. You don’t have to be a member to participate in this kid friendly event. Registration is strongly encouraged at cincyscca.motorsportreg.com.
